Community Festival

June 26-28, 2026

Libations

The Libations committee is responsible for organizing and operating all alcoholic beverage sales at ComFest.

Libations is always looking for trustworthy, sober volunteers to check IDs, take beverage chips, and serve drinks. There are training sessions for Libations volunteers before the festival each year, where you will learn the most up-to-date law changes and practices that help to keep us and ComFest safe and legal.

Purpose

This is a job for trustworthy folks who understand that The Community Festival has survived, in no small part, through its beverage sales. This has allowed us to stay true to our Statement of Principles and to remain free of corporate sponsorship for all these years. (and into the future)

Learn More

As a cashier, you check IDs and exchange money for beverage chips and souvenir mugs.  As a bartender, you check IDs, take the beverage chips, and serve the drinks. You understand that any free drinks and mugs you give away come out of ComFest's pocket, and that although the festival looks huge, it is weather dependent and can struggle to break even.

Please understand that if alcohol is furnished to a minor or if any other liquor law is broken, both you and ComFest could be issued citations. So now you can take the ComFest oath:  "I Love Community Festival and I want it to be here for my kids and grandkids, (or "my neighbor's kids and grandkids," if you don't have any).  I won't furnish beer to a minor or commit some other liquor violation and I won't give away any alcohol!" Okay, so there's no official ComFest oath, but you get the point.  Who wants to be known as the person who ended the festival by costing us our liquor permit?

Get Involved

So if you think you can handle 4 hours of checking ID's and helping the festival pay for itself, please sign up for a shift and come have fun with us.

Happy ComFest!

Welcome to Community Festival 2026! For 54 years, ComFest has been the progressive heartbeat of Columbus and central Ohio.

ComFest is a free event, powered by Community and sustained without corporate sponsors. Featuring the very best local music, progressive political activism and community organizing, local artisans and craftspeople and your favorite summer foods, ComFest brings the community together.

ComFest has nurtured the Columbus arts and entertainment scene, nourished small businesses, energized generations of community activists, and positioned progressive ideals front and center in our growing city.

The costs to put on this extraordinary event increase every year. Whether its permits, safety and security, trash and recycling supplies, stages and sound equipment, libations or any number of expenses, the costs of putting on this free and all volunteer weekend continue to outrun the revenues.

We’d like to take a moment to ask you to consider supporting ComFest financially. Now more than ever, this unique and vital event must be here for the next generation of ComFesters and your support can ensure the legacy begun 54 years ago lives on.

Thank you for being here: For volunteering, for supporting local music, for purchasing ComFest beverages, for shopping at Street Fair, and for signing up to protect the principles and values we all stand and fight for.

Please click here to keep the “Party with a Purpose” going strong.
Have a great ComFest.
